Breed Media is a proud associate of the BPI.

The BPI represents the UK recorded music industry.

Its membership comprises hundreds of music companies including all four 'major' record companies, associate members such as CD, DVD & vinyl replication companies/manufacturers & distributors, and hundreds of independent music companies representing literally thousands of labels.

The BPI have represented the interests of UK record companies since being formally incorporated in 1973 when the principal aim was to fight the growing problem of music piracy.

Why you should join

An estimated 10 million counterfeit CDs were sold in the UK in 2003, generating around £56 million for counterfeiters. None of this money found its way back to the artists and creators.

Online piracy is also a massive problem; with hundreds of millions of files illegally available on the internet through unlicensed filesharing. The BPI's work in removing music from sites that illegally supply the peer-to-peer networks (especially pre-release) is vital in reducing the illegal availability of your music.

Through their links with the police and Trading Standards departments on physical piracy and their links with internet service providers for online music piracy, the BPI is the UK record industry's key weapon in the battle against copyright theft.

In all piracy cases the BPI is there to advise and take action on your behalf.

The BPI also do an enormous amount of work in other areas to help their members get on with what they do best: discovering, nurturing and developing new British music.
